Strawberry Planting Pain Points
In mid-to-late August every year, strawberry transplanting is in full swing. For many strawberry growers, slow seedling establishment, poor rooting, and weak seedlings after transplanting are major pain points. When encountering high-temperature weather, strawberry seedling establishment becomes even more difficult! Poor growth of strawberry seedlings during the seedling stage will have adverse effects on the later market time, fruit quality, yield, and user benefits of strawberries.
Product Introduction of Root Shield
Root Shield is an organic water-soluble fertilizer that combines polyglutamic acid, fish protein peptides, seaweed polysaccharides, beneficial bacteria, and seaweed-derived organic matter. It is very suitable for application on strawberries. It can create a good soil environment for strawberries, stimulate rapid rooting of strawberry roots, and comprehensively solve the problems of strawberry non-rooting, slow seedling establishment, and weak seedlings.

Root Shield is a new type of organic water-soluble fertilizer. It has been promoted and applied in more than 30 regions across China on dozens of crops (grapes, strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, leafy vegetables, etc.). After using Root Shield, crops have well-developed root systems, seedlings establish quickly, the survival rate is improved, and the growth is uniform.

Effect of Root Shield on Promoting Rooting of Strawberries Under High Temperature
Test Design
• Test Products: Root Shield, Competitor Products
• Test Crop: Strawberries
• Test Conditions: All strawberries were placed in an artificial climate chamber for unified management (temperature 30℃/22℃ (day/night), photoperiod 12h/12h (light/dark), relative humidity 65%).
• Test Period: July 20, 2024 - August 20, 2024
• Test Location: Agricultural Science Academy of Haida Biology, Qingdao City, Shandong Province
Test Conclusions
Drenching 60L/hectare of Root Shield during the strawberry transplanting and seedling establishment period:
• Strawberry seedling establishment is fast, with more and greener new leaves, more fibrous roots, and vigorous white roots.
• Even in high-temperature environments, strawberries can still establish seedlings quickly and produce new roots!

Above-Ground and Root Weight of Strawberries Under Different Treatments (g):
Treatment | Above-Ground Fresh Weight | Root Fresh Weight |
Competitor Products | 9.68 | 6.69 |
Root Shield | 11.98 | 8.55 |
Under high-temperature conditions, strawberries treated with Root Shield have more roots, heavier roots, and vigorous above-ground growth. Compared with competitor products, the root weight of strawberries increases by 27.80%, and the above-ground plant weight increases by 23.76%.

Total Root Number of Strawberries Under Different Treatments (pieces):
• Competitor Products: 7864
• Root Shield: 9105 (15.8% increase compared with competitor products)
Total Root Length of Strawberries Under Different Treatments (cm):
• Competitor Products: 1400
• Root Shield: 1821 (30.0% increase compared with competitor products)
Average Root Diameter of Strawberries Under Different Treatments (mm):
• Competitor Products: 0.297
• Root Shield: 0.380 (27.9% increase compared with competitor products)
Under high-temperature conditions, drenching with Root Shield treatment results in strawberries having more roots, longer roots, and stronger roots. The total number of roots increases by 15.8% compared with competitor products, the total root length increases by 30.0%, and the average root diameter increases by 27.9%.

Field root digging in plots using Root Shield found that drenching 60L/hectare of Root Shield during the seedling establishment period leads to fast strawberry seedling establishment, more fibrous roots, and vigorous white roots.
Usage and Dosage
Root Shield is suitable for various fruits, vegetables, and food crops. It has high safety and can be used throughout the whole growth period.
Usage Method of Root Shield on Strawberries:
Growth Stage | Dosage per Ha | Usage Method | Efficacy |
Seedbed Stage | 60L/hectare | Drench application, drip irrigation, root irrigation | Strong seedlings, well-developed root system, uniform growth. |
Transplanting and Seedling Establishment Stage | 60L/hectare | Drench application, drip irrigation, root irrigation. Once every 7 days, continuous use for 2-3 times. | ① Rapid rooting and seedling establishment, more white roots, strong growth without excessive vegetative growth. ② Mix with 1 bag of Yuyou Bacteria per mu for better effect in preventing seedling death. |
Flower and Fruit Stage | 30-60L/hectare | Drench application, drip irrigation (mixed with high-potassium macroelements) | More flower bud differentiation, faster color transformation, early market launch by 3-5 days. |
Usage Method of Root Shield on Cucumbers:
Growth Stage | Dosage per Ha | Usage Method | Efficacy |
Transplanting and Seedling Establishment Stage | 30-60L/hectare | Root dipping, drench application, drip irrigation, root irrigation | Improve the phenomena of "stunted seedlings", "yellow seedlings", and "weak seedlings". |
Before Vine Hanging | 30L/hectare | Drench application, drip irrigation, root irrigation (before 7-8 leaves, mixed with Yuyou Calcium or Yuyou Beilijin) | Promote calcium absorption. Prevent the "rotten top" phenomenon of cucumbers caused by calcium deficiency. |
Fruit Setting Stage | 60L/hectare | (Mixed with macroelements) | Early market launch by 5-7 days; extend the harvest period by about 10-20 days; uniform fruit shape, increased yield, improved rhizosphere environment, and prevention of nematodes. |
Usage Method of Root Shield on Grapes
Growth Stage | Dosage per Ha | Usage Method | Efficacy |
Flower Bud Differentiation Stage | 60-120L/hectare | Drench application, drip irrigation, root irrigation | Plump flower buds. Improve the ability to resist late spring cold, protect flowers and fruits. Alleviate root burning caused by unrotten organic fertilizers. |
Fruit Expansion Stage | 30-60L/hectare | Drench application, drip irrigation (mixed with macroelements) | Thick spikes, good fruit quality. |
